A United States Marine Corps Ospreys squadron has recently become the first to be deployed to Afghanistan.

The base for the 200 Marines and twelve aircraft has not been announced, but they are to join the Marine Expeditionary Brigade-Afghanistan.

The system experienced tremendous success in Iraq, and is expected to produce the same results in Afghanistan.

The mountainous topography of the country is the Government Accountability Office’s lone concern, as the aircraft has not been tested in such high altitudes.

Marine officials, however, disagree and stand by the Ospreys ability to save lives.
